Rusty Diemer RN, BSN

Founder & Owner

Rusty Diemer has been a registered nurse for 43 years, 35 of which have been in the home health field. Prior to founding First Horizon, Rusty served as a consultant, helping to establish many home care agencies in central Indiana. In 2011, Rusty directed her talents towards opening First Horizon Home Care, Inc. Her passion and success for First Horizon Home Care led her to pursue the opening of First Horizon Home Health Care, LLC in the spring of 2015.

For Rusty, homecare holds personal significance. Having cared for her own daughter in the home environment, Rusty understands the therapeutic value of compassionate, quality care at home. As a dedicated wife of 45 years, loving mother of four children, and a proud grandmother to three, Rusty spends her time out of the office reading, practicing photography and enjoying time with friends and family. As Rusty says, “There is no place like home!”

Patrick Diemer

Administrator & Owner

Patrick Diemer was formally introduced to the home health industry in 2011 with the opening of First Horizon Home Care. Patrick, believing in the mission of First Horizon Home Care, was inspired to join Rusty and expand the agency to First Horizon Home Health Care. Patrick considers his greatest accomplishment to be the number of people who have received care from First Horizon services over the past decade.

Patrick and his wife Marissa have two children. Together, they enjoy traveling, hiking, and playing a variety of sports. Patrick continues to work hard every day to ensure that clients and their families are happy and receiving top-quality care in their homes.

Sherry Lorance RN, BSN

Director of Nursing

Sherry Lorance, known to her coworkers as “Skipper”, has been leading the RN Case Management team since 2018. Prior to joining First Horizon, Sherry had acquired over a decade of experience in home care, hospice, and Medicare home treatments. Her leadership and administrative experience are used today to mentor her four clinical case managers and facilitate the admission and ongoing care of First Horizon Health Care patients.

Sherry and her husband, Mike, have been married for 34 years and have 6 children and 4 grandchildren. Together they enjoy kayaking, camping, and family time around a bonfire. Sherry has a love and passion for the patients and families she serves. Why? Because, as Sherry says, those that are elderly, underprivileged, poor, or at the end of life deserve to have their stories told, repeated, and respected.

Janelle Woods

Executive Administrative Assistant     

Janelle Woods, a Kelley School of Business graduate, joined First Horizon management in 2016. A Hoosier native from Crawfordsville, Indiana, Janelle has always had a passion for people and learning. With her background in marketing and management, Janelle stays busy directing various programs and administrative functions in the First Horizon office.

Janelle loves spending time with her family and her husband, Terrell, and two children are the lights of her life! Baking, listening to vinyl records, and celebrating Christmas are easily some of Janelle’s greatest joys. When asked what motivates Janelle to work in this field, she says, “I do what I do because it makes me happy every day of my life! I love learning new things and I'm always looking for something new to learn to be able to become more valuable to the company.”

Hannah Whittemore

Special Projects Manager

Hannah Whittemore brings her years of experience in patient care and healthcare management to the team as First Horizon’s Special Projects Manager. She has a passion for developing operational procedures and facilitating agency advancement and accomplishment of long-term goals. In her capacity at First Horizon, Hannah works diligently to execute First Horizon’s strategic plan for growth.

Hannah and Army veteran husband, David, are loving dog parents to a Yorkie and Chiweenie, Lily, and Zoey. In her free time, Hannah continues to enjoy volunteering for the American Red Cross as a CPR instructor and Disaster Action Team member. Hannah found her calling for senior care while volunteering at nursing homes with family and church groups as a teenager. Today, seniors continue to be her motivation for pursuing agency development where administrators and aides alike are equipped to provide exceptional care.

Ashley Kincaid

 Recruiter

Ashley Kincaid serves as First Horizon’s multi-talented Recruiter and is often the first smiling face you meet in the agency office. She comes with a wealth of recruiting experience having worked to staff international airline employees for Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines as well as managing staffing for seven Ohio McDonald’s locations.

Ashley enjoys working for First Horizon because of the opportunity to help people find jobs doing something they love and developing personal and professional skills. Ashley finds joy in being outdoors and spending time with family. She and her husband, John, also enjoy bowling on Sunday evenings with their league. Ashley's favorite quote is by Robin Williams: "Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always." 

Jessica Jones

Front Desk Attendant

Jessica Jones is First Horizon's front desk attendant and resident ray of sunshine! She joins our team having over 20 years of prior healthcare experience, including positions at Mid America Clinical Labs, and OnRamp Medical Communications. Jessica warmly welcomes guests and prospective employees to our new office space and frequently is the voice on the other end of the phone. If you call the office, make sure to say hello!

When not busy at work, Jessica enjoys her hobbies of shopping, traveling, baking, and spending time with family and friends. Jessica is a natural people-person. She says, 'I enjoy working with people and like to help however I can. I live by the saying "Helping one person might not change the world, but it could change the world for one person'.' Jessica is committed to providing a positive experience to every customer!

Cynthia Starks

  Lead Scheduler

Cynthia Starks has been scheduling for home-bound and medically frail individuals for First Horizon since 2018. Prior to bringing her talents to healthcare, Cynthia worked for 11 years as an Office Assistant in the Human Resources department of Indiana State University. In 2010, Cynthia decided to take some classes at MedTech for Medical Office Administration, which included a scheduling component. This prompted her to pursue healthcare scheduling and was led to First Horizon.

Cynthia is a gifted vocalist whose accomplishments have included recording a gospel CD and serving as a praise and worship leader. She is a devoted mother of two and grandmother to three teenagers. Cynthia is dedicated to caring for all First Horizon patients and caregivers as well as sharing joy to her coworkers.

Angela Grider

Scheduling Manager

If you have ever called the First Horizon office, you have probably spoken to Angey at some point! Angey joined our team with prior Medicare home health scheduling experience and over 20 years as a Traffic Manager. Her proficiency and attention to detail make her an invaluable member of the scheduling department. 

Angey lives in the same small town she grew up in, just around the corner from her childhood home. After hours, she loves baking and sharing her creations with family and friends. If she's not with family, she can be found on her deck enjoying the sunset view with a fire, a bottle of wine, and her dogs. Angey values the relationships that she has built with caregivers, clients, and her office coworkers and this motivates her to do what she does every single day. 

Sydney Gonser

Scheduler

Sydney Gonser is a multi-talented scheduler who endeavors to approach each challenge with creativity and compassion. As a former caregiver herself, Sydney understands the many physical and emotional challenges that caregivers face. From changing tires to picking up kiddos from daycare, Sydney finds satisfaction in being a problem-solver for her caregivers. Sydney will tell you that she loves people and that love is her motivation for relentlessly advocating for her patients, patiently listening to her caregivers, and ensuring every client is heard and cared for.

When she’s not busy scheduling, Sydney stays busy being a mom to her beautiful “3-year-old blonde ball of chaos.” Some of her hobbies include photography, art, baking, and taking trips to the countryside—usually accompanied by the same “blonde ball of chaos!” As a self-described local music enthusiast, Sydney can often be found in off-the-path locations listening to aspiring singer songwriters and appreciating original music. Sydney is committed to making clients and caregivers feel at home at First Horizon.

Michelle Hoffman

Scheduler

Michelle Hoffman is the newest member of the First Horizon scheduling team. She brings with her over nine years of homecare staffing experience and an unwavering sense of humor.  Her hands-on experience has been enhanced by her behind-the-scenes work, bringing a unique and creative approach to staffing. Michelle's goal is simple: to take care of people and help in any way she can.  

Outside the office, Michelle can be found watching sports, enjoying nature, and spending time with family. She also enjoys racing and finds her way to the track whenever possible. Originally from Franklin, Indiana, Michelle and her son now live in the Indianapolis area located not far from the new First Horizon office suites. Michelle is eager to begin building connections with First Horizon patients and staff.

Danielle Smith RN, BSN

RN Case Manager

Danielle “Dani” Smith joined First Horizon’s clinical department as an RN Case Manager in 2016 and has been a role model and leader for many of the Home Health Aides she supervises. Dani’s clinical experience working on a dementia unit as well as serving hospice and med surg patients provided a wealth of knowledge for her tenure in home health. Dani loves the relationships she has built with her patients and enjoys being their advocate.

Born and raised in Plainfield, Indiana, Dani spends her time outside work being involved with her church and their many activities. She is married to her best friend of 17 years and together, they care for their two boys and foster children. Their family enjoys playing a variety of sports including soccer, baseball, and football. Dani loves what she does in her nursing capacity at First Horizon. She says, “I do what I do because I believe I am called to care for others and nursing is an amazing way to do that.”

Jennifer Grasso RN, BSN

RN Case Manager

Jen is a dedicated member of the RN Case Management clinical department. Prior to joining First Horizon, she served as a critical care nurse for 20 years. While managing a full caseload, Jen also assists in the competency and supervision of First Horizon Home Health Aides and Personal Care Attendants. She enjoys caring for others and helping meet their physical and emotional needs. Jen says she feels very lucky to have found a career in a field that is her true calling.

One of Jen’s greatest enjoyments stems from her love of music. Holding a degree in music performance for oboe and piano, Jen finds that music is truly a universal language. Her other passions include caring for animals and knitting—especially socks! Jen and her husband have celebrated 25+ years married! They, along with their two children, love the holidays--especially Christmas!

Cathryn Parsons RN, ASN

RN Case Manager

Cathryn is the most recent addition to the clinical RN Case Management Department. She has served as a nurse for 8 years with experience in acute rehabilitation and some sub-acute rehabilitation. Additionally, she brings a wound care certification and training in non-violent conflict resolution. She says about her motivation and goal for serving at First Horizon is “To work diligently and lovingly to help manage the care others need in order to stay safe, healthy, comfortable, and thrive in their homes in their own communities.”

Originally from Monticello, Indiana, Cathryn now resides in a historic downtown Indiana home with her husband of 13 years, their two children, and family dogs. Cat finds relaxation in yoga, musicals, and spooky movies. On the weekends, Cathryn’s family often find themselves in Hockey rinks or relaxing at the theatre. Cathryn has quickly become an integral part of the clinical team and looks forward to developing even greater patient relationships.
