What is ACHC Accreditation?

First Horizon Home Health Care is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) for compliance with a  comprehensive set of standards. ACHC is a third-party accreditation organization that has developed the highest national standards that providers are measured against in order to illustrate their ability to effectively and efficiently deliver quality healthcare products and services to consumers.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR YOU?

Accreditation requires healthcare organizations to demonstrate compliance with specific quality and process standards. By choosing a healthcare provider that has achieved ACHC accreditation, you can take comfort in knowing that you will receive the highest quality of care. If you have any concerns about the product or service that you receive from First Horizon Home Health Care, you may contact ACHC directly at 855-937-2242.

Is there someone able to take my call outside of business hours?

Certainly. We have a team-member on-call 24/7 for after-hours emergencies or unexpected schedule changes. Of course, if it is a medical emergency, please call 911.

How are staff screened and what kind of education do they receive?

Before a new employee can begin working for First Horizon, we will conduct knowledge-based testing,  a criminal background check, drug screen, a driving record check, an abuse/neglect record check, a personal interview with the prospective employee, and reference checks with former employers. All new employees receive new staff orientation, which includes insights into our policies and procedures, HIPAA, safety and standard precautions, and CPR and first aid. New employees will also be evaluated for competency using a variety of medical equipment.

Do we hire family members of loved ones to provide their care?

Yes! In many situations, family members are able to provide formal care for their loved one. Family members must successfully meet all new hire requirements and complete our comprehensive orientation program.
